Hellforged by Nancy Holzner

Deadtown:  the city's quarantined section for its inhuman and undead residents.  Why would anybody want to go there???

I won this book in a contest that Ms. Holzner held.  I don't usually read this type of story, but I'm open to trying new things and I'm really glad I won.  This is a good book! It's published by Penguin and is available in paperback at your local bookstore.  It's the second book in her Deadtown series.

Vicky is Boston's only professional demon slayer.  She had a bad tangle with her demon nemesis (in the first book), but has banished him to hell.  However, she bears a scar from her fight with that still connects them.

When she starts dreaming about him at night and her zombie friends start dying in Deadtown, she knows things are heating up and her challenges aren't over yet.  She also begins to realize the only connection between these deaths is herself.  Her troubles with the demon don't appear to be over yet.

This author makes all these paranormal characters seem normal.  The zombie's have jobs.  Demons are common.  Murder is still murder.  The story has a fast pace, a good flow, and Ms. Holzner really keeps your interest as you keep flipping the pages.

There is another book in this coming in this series, and I'm looking forward to reading that one.  Why won't you go down to your local bookstore and look for all three?  If you like action, adventure, and fantasy, this series is for you.

Happy reading!
