Creating with Cat Hair by Kaori Tsutaya

If you brush or even pet your cat, you'll know that they shed a lot of hair in the summer.  Here is a way to make unique gifts from that very soft fur...

Quirk Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It is currently available for sale at your local bookstore.  Subtitle of the book is:  Cute Handicrafts to Make with Your Cat.  Translator was Amy Hirschman.

The idea for this book fascinated me.  My Bengal cat sheds a lot but my two outside cats, one part Persian and the other a Main Coon cat, leave chunks of cat hair that would make a kitten!  Using their hair for crafts sounded very interesting.

The projects are small and range from finger puppets to accessories on scarves or bags, etc.  The directions are step by step.  How to wash and brush the hair before starting, the techniques to use for the various applications and pictures of the process to make it easier to understand.

Every project in this book is breath taking to a cat owner.  I'm amazed at Ms. Tsutaya's talent and her skill at creating cute, visually attractive decorations from discarded cat hair.  This is a great idea!

If they can use rabbit hair for projects, this is no different.  Why not check out the contents for yourself?  I bet you take a copy home with you.  These would make unique bazaar gift items to sell...

Happy reading.
