Skary Children And The Carousel of Sorrow by Katy Towell

Widowsbury had a terrible storm come through.  And then all sorts of paranormal activity began...

Alfred A Knopf sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can grab a copy at your local bookstore.  This is another book that would make a good Halloween treat.  Why not scare the young readers with a little horror?

The main characters are three little girls at the Madam Gertrude's School for Girls.  They are a bit different and they bullied and harrassed by other students.  But the head of the school never sees the others do wrong...

This threesome spends  a lot of time in the library because they are not allowed out at recess.  Previous librarians have been mean and they are not looking forward to welcoming a new one.  Not that they have a choice.  They are pleasantly surprised when she's nice, but she disappears on the first night of her stay...

The son of the cook for the school next door finds the librarian's suitcase.  And the girls join him in a hunt for the librarian.

There is evil all about in this book.  The carousel is in the creepy dark woods and people who go to ride on it, don't return.  The head of the school is awful and loves to punish the three "different" girls.  You've never seen a town like this one and you'll hope you never do.  But it's a great "skary" Halloween read.

Why not get yourself a copy and see?  Here's a book trailer to entice you further:

Happy reading.
