Gladie is an interesting main character. She's stubborn and snoopy, has no love interest, can't get excited about match-making, and is just sorting index cards and trying to make sense about her Grandma's work techniques. When her neighbor across the street dies, she goes to console the survivors. When she walks out the door, she's sure it was murder instead of suicide. Even if the chief of police doesn't agree with her, she's sure and begins looking into the case.
Her potential love life improves when a sexy new guy moves in next door. It also seems the chief of police thinks she's sexy. So she goes from no suitors to two!
The murder mystery was interesting. It's not a straight road to the answer and the murderer was not someone I suspected.
I'm looking forward to seeing this character again. She hasn't decided which man she wants and I bet she gets involved in another murder. Grandma might do match-making; Gladie's instincts seem to be in the investigative line. Plus she uses some interesting cuss words...
