Are you ready for a wild tale that is full adventure, danger, poison and a bit of steampunk? If so, this one meets the bill.
Sparkling Books Limited and Net Galley allowed me download an ebook of this story for review (thank you). It will be published in June, so make a note to pick up a copy for yourself at your local bookstore. (It's also available as an ebook.)
This book truly has dastardly criminals in it. Peregrine liked to read the Penny Dreadfuls and he longed for some equally fantastic adventures. When he gets assigned the journalist's task of finding out why tea supplies are shrinking and how they are getting lost on the way from Point A to Point B, he expects it to be boring. Oh no, not in the least!
There is an evil plot and a big mystery underlying the lost tea issue. Peregrine finds he has trusted the wrong man and is in real danger. So is the man's daughter and he's developing a crush on her. Can these two young teenagers defeat the evil they face?
I really enjoyed reading this story and it is a bit like what you'd see in a Penny Dreadful. For me, that's a good thing.
Happy reading.
