This author is a most accomplished illustrator as well as a writer. Each book of hers I read is a little treasure I don't want to part with.
Knopf sent me a copy of this board book for review (thank you). It is available at your local bookstore now, so go pick up a copy.
The white rabbit in this story examines how various animals deal with winter. Some hibernate, some go south, so grow more wool and the rabbit changes color. When summer comes, the animals come out again and the rabbit changes to brown.
The illustrations are gorgeous and have a look of 3-D on the pages. I can see a child looking at the book again and again to see what new things he/she might find on a page.
This would be a lovely Easter gift if you're thinking ahead. Or it would be good fun to read with your child now.
Happy reading.
