The Mourning Emporium by Michelle Lovric

This story is the companion to The Undrowned Child.  You can read this story alone, but it will make more sense if you read both books.  The Undrowned Child will introduce you to the same characters you will find in the second book.  This is a fantasy tale for young adult readers and has plenty of action and adventure for all.

Delacorte Press sent me a copy of this book to review (thank you).  It has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.

Teo and Renzo find themselves forced to face Bajamonte Tiepolo again.  Teo couldn't bring herself to kill him at end of the last story but she didn't expect him to resurrect himself again.  Now they have real trouble.

Venice is now covered with ice, people are dying from exposure and hunger, and now a mysterious illness is taking more victims.  Teo and Renzo are on a ship that has been taken over by pirates and they are treated like slaves and fed little.

This is an adventure filled with colorful characters and a lot of action.  Neither Teo or Renzo are faint of heart, but they still find themselves scared at times.  You'll keep turning the pages to see what happens next.  It's an exciting and interesting tale.  Why not give it a try?

Happy reading.
