Is their new teacher who is willing to teach them spells right or wrong? Should they learn theory and practice first as their old teachers believe? And why don't the older like the new teacher?
Sourcebooks Jabberwocky and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It will be published October 7th, so you can grab a copy shortly. This is the second book in the Demon Notebook series, so you may want to grab book one.
This series is written for middle graders and it's a fun one to read. There's always something a bit scary, the magic they are using is hard to control, and there's always a lesson in what they do. Don't go too far before asking for adult help is an example.
They know the two teachers they originally had know the third witch, but they don't like her. They say she abuses her power. They won't say how. The trouble all starts when they learn how to go back in time. They decide to go back in time and find out what caused the split. Uh oh...
There's a black dog that used to be a young boy, a magic shop that has a mirror with an ugly creature that scares Grace, their new teacher isn't what she seems, and the demons are back again. There's lot of action, plenty of danger and it'll hold reader's attention. It held mine! Not only that, I'm waiting for the next book in this series. Ms. McGann writes well, creates interesting situations, and makes fantasy sound believable. I like it!
