The Monkey and the Bee by C P Bloom

This is a simple picture book for little ones with only a few words but, boy, what a story those few words express!  Peter Raymundo's illustrations help fill in any missing words.

Abram's Books for Young Readers sent me a copy of this book to read for review (thank you).  It's due to be published April 14th, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.

The monkey is quietly enjoying his banana when a bee shows up.  The bee wants some banana, too.  The monkey is NOT willing to share.  He even swipes at the bee.  Then he takes off with his bananas.  He doesn't run far, though.  He's not having the best of luck.  Not only is the bee bothering him, now he's disturbed a lion.  Uh oh!

The ending is cute and I especially like the graphic of the scared lion.  With so few words to confuse small ones, I'm sure they'll be reading this story again and again.  Just don't get scared if they start buzzing like a bee...
