Treasure Island by Jennifer Adams

Pirates are always fun to read about and these pirates are teaching you about shapes.

Gibbs Smith sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published so you can get a copy now at your local bookstore.

This is another BabyLit book and you get to say "Aargh!" when you read it!

I like the fact that they show you a shape on one page and then you find that shape in the illustrations on the other.  It enforces not only the shape and its name in the little one's mind, it also show them how to see it when it is mixed in with other shapes. For example, an oval is Long John Silver's eyepatch.

It's cute, fun to read, and teaches you a bit on the way.  What could be better?  Oh, go ahead.  Say "Aargh!" again...
