Imagine the fate of a little vegetarian dinosaur hatching at the feet of a huge meat-eating dinosaur. The first words it hears is: You look yummy! You know what's going to happen next, right? Not...
Museyon Inc. and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It has been published, so you can get a copy now.
While the big dinosaur is eyeing the snack in front of him, the little dinosaur runs over, grabs his leg and shouts: Daddy!
This story reminds me of the "Are You My Mother" story by P D Eastman. In that one, a bird hatches while its mother is gone and it looks for her. In this story of mistaken identity, the little dino brings back red berries to share with Dad. He eats one as a good sport. And he tries to figure out how to shed himself of this bundensome child who doesn't eat meat. He saves him from another meat eater, so you can tell he's fond of his new charge even if they aren't the same kind.
The ending is cute and what is needed for a happily ever after. This is for young ones and doesn't take long to read. Just be prepared for the kids to act silly afterwards. At least we would have in my family. There was a lot of "are you my mother" going on when we read that book.
