The Ship of Sight and The Hand of Shadow (The Natnat Adventures Book 2) by Brydie Walker Bain

Here's the second in this series about young adults in New Zealand and the magic and mysticism that exists there.  The story goes back to the beginning of time and is being swept under the rug.  No one wants to remember the past, they just want to control the future...

The author sent me a copy of this book to read for review (thank you).  You can get a copy on Amazon now.

The woman that is after the legacy is determined to get it no matter what it takes.  She owns a very expensive helicopter that can take her anywhere she needs to go quickly.  She has a mercenary named "Scout" who is willing to follow her orders and take her money.  And she's totally ruthless.

Nat is the chosen one of the young adults.  She doesn't want to be.  But when one of the boys was farting around on the dunes by the seas, he unearthed an ancient burial site.  One of the skeletal bodies held a talisman pendant.  His hand dips and the pendant is given to Nat.  Her hand burns, they run back home and she now has a map on her hand that only appears to some people.  Abraham knows then the quest she has to fulfill and he gets them ready to go the next day.

With the woman trying to stop them and Abraham trying to keep them ahead of her, it's a race across the island.  They are visiting beautiful sites but have no time to admire the beauty or see the sights.

The story is action packed and full of danger.  The worst part?  If Nat doesn't complete her task in time, she will die.  That's a pretty rough deadline.  It's nip and tuck all through the story.

There will be another in this series.  I hope everyone survives...
