Wedding Girl by Stacey Ballis

Sophie is going to have the most perfect wedding day.  She planned it all out and paid no attention to cost.  She put it on her credit cards without a care because her new husband would help her pay it back.  When he's a bit late, it bothers her.  But when she finds out he's not even in the country and has married someone else, she's devastated!  She tells everyone to eat, drink and be merry because she's going to be.  It even makes the social media...

Berkley sent me an ARC of this book to read for review (thank you).  It was just published yesterday so you can grab a copy now.

This was a good read.  Watching Sophie try to pick up the pieces and go on with life is a bit sad but she does well.  She moves in with her grandmother and gives up her condo.  Grandma is getting old and needs someone to watch over her, so it works out.

She was a big enough mess she lost her job, so she decides to work part-time at the local bakery for an old man she's know for years.  She's gradually getting him into some new ideas for the breads and pastries but they're fighting a losing battle.  A big new well known bakery is going in just a few blocks away.  Most likely their business will dry up.

She's paying off debt, ignoring men, and visiting with her girlfriends.  That's good enough for her.  When an attractive male shows up at the bakery, she chats with him but he's a bit rude.  That's OK, she's not interested in men anyway.  When he turns out to be Herman's son, she can't totally brush him off.

A new girlfriend she's made by creating a wedding cake for her and helping her with her wedding planning gives her a gift of a website where she can sell her wedding advice.  It's not big money but it will help her pay off her debt and she does have experience and is good at planning.  She decides to do it.  That's where she meets Jack.  He intrigues her enough that she agrees to meet him.  She's in for a big surprise...

It's a cute story with a good ending for all.  If you want to read a book that will make you smile, this one will do that.
