Tracker's Canyon by Pam Withers

Tristan's father has disappeared.  They can't find any evidence except where his rope had broken.  No pack, no body, no nothing.  Tristan doesn't want to believe he's dead.  He learned tracking from his father and how to climb canyons and rappel down them.  He doesn't want to give up on his dad.  But he can't go back alone.  And he has to take care of his mother now.  She fell to pieces when her husband disappeared...

Dundurn and Edelweiss gave me the opportunity to read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published August 15th.

Tristan finally gets a chance to go on a trip to the canyon where he lost his dad.  What he doesn't realize is that someone in the group is a potential killer...

The truth has been twisted by one person into a lie and a personal vendetta.  He's not sure who it is or why they are after him but he had to be very careful about everything he does on this trip.  He keeps finding hints of his father's presence and he's trying hard to find him as they go along. When he finds his father's bootprint next to where he was sleeping, he's especially eager to continue the hunt.  But he's in more danger than his father is.

This is a very suspenseful read with three people in dangerous country and death on the horizon.  It takes quick thinking and using the things his father taught him to keep Tristan safe.  I read this story straight through because I couldn't wait to see how it ended.  I wouldn't be surprised if you did, too.
